5 Small Joys That Prove It’s the Little Things That Count
No need for a big fuss; we, at Cozey, are firm believers that simplicity is key. We love the little pleasures of life, and we think that these small joys are what make a whole difference on our daily happiness levels!
Small Joy #1: Stretching in the morning
Stretching first thing in the morning can relieve any tension or pain from sleeping the night before. And let’s be honest here: a good stretch in bed before starting off the day is good–really good.
Small Joy #2: Napping in the afternoon
Who said only preschoolers could nap in the daytime? Research shows that afternoon naps allow a better memory, calm nerves, enhance creativity and boost willpower. Not only that, but waking up from a 30-minute sleep on your Cozey sofa-in-a-box, on a Sunday, right after lunch, is amazzzing.
Small Joy #3: Being barefoot
This applies mostly for hot summer days, not so much for cold winter ones. The notion of grounding, i.e. being in full connection with the earth by walking barefoot on the grass, is praised by many health experts. It physiologically helps people, as it improves sleep and decreases stress as well as tension. Picture yourself on a bright summer day, in your neighbourhood park, walking barefoot on the grass and making the most out of a sunny day. Doesn’t it sound perfect?
Small Joy #4: Reading a book
This one might not come as a surprise. Reading holds many benefits, similar ones to meditation, as it provides people with deep relaxation and inner calm. Not only is it soothing, but reading is also an affordable way to escape reality!
Small Joy #5: Putting music on
At Cozey, we are firm believers that music can improve the way we feel and help us be in a better mood. Listening to music in the car, for example, is a great way to decompress. Putting music on while cooking is also a good way to feel good and relaxed.
